Tanglewood Park Festival of Lights

Festival of Lights is open nightly, Friday, November 15th, 2019 through Wednesday, January 1st, 2020 from 6PM to 11PM, with the exception of Tuesday, December 31, when the show closes at 10PM. The Gift Shop closes at 11PM Sundays-Thursdays and at 12AM on Fridays and Saturdays, with the exception of Tuesday, December 31st when it closes at 10PM.

Thursdays-Sundays are very popular nights at Festival of Lights. During these nights, long lines and wait times should be expected. Weekends are especially busy and 4 hour wait times should be expected. Also, if visitors are not inside the park gate by 11PM, they may not get into the show before it closes.

Little Brother Brewing’s Run Club

Christmas at Bethabara

Downtown Arts District Association 1st Friday Artwalk, theme: "Look Forward, Travel Back." Triad Trolleys will take visitors from the Artwalk to the Gemeinhaus at Historic Bethabara Park to see the park lit up at night and experience the Gemeinhaus by candlelight.

The Gemeinhaus will be decorated for Christmas and open for candlelit tours while world-renowned violinist, Jennifer Curtis, from the International Contemporary Ensemble performs in the sanctuary. The Carolina Colonial Dancers will dance with their intricate colonial costuming inside the Brewer's House. Stuart, Bethabara's potter, will be creating Moravian pottery in the Potter's House. The Triad Woodcarvers will be there with their wares. We will have Christmas tree quilling and textile demonstrations in the Log House for visitors of all ages.

The Lovefeast is a traditional, Moravian, religious service put on by Bethabara Moravian Church. Because of the limited capacity of people we can legally accommodate in the sanctuary, we will be passing out (free) tickets to attend the service, first-come-first-served from the front door of the Gemeinhaus on the day of the event starting at 4:30 p.m.

Downtown in December & First Friday Downtown Greensboro - Festival of Lights

What better way to celebrate First Friday than a kick-off to the holiday season?! The festival of lights has been a holiday tradition for more than 30 years. This year the festival will include all of the holiday favorites including the community sing, lighting of the community tree in Center City Park, and of course carolers and acoustic performances along Elm Street. You can find Santa in Hamburger Square and roast marshmallows too! Warm your hands at the warming stations and get your group holiday photo in the social photo booth! You’ll find plenty of delicious treats throughout downtown and don’t forget – finalize your shopping at one of the many downtown merchants who will be open late for Festival of Lights!

Downtown in December - Holiday Parade

For four decades, the Greensboro Holiday Parade has brought bands, huge Macy-style balloons and the community together to enjoy holiday spirit! The Greensboro Holiday Parade has been a downtown tradition for over 40 years. The Parade features huge Macy’s style balloons and is the one of the few Parades in North Carolina to feature these great attractions which have been featured in countries such as Belgium, Israel, Mexico, and many other locations! The parade averages over 60,000 spectators who also enjoy professional floats, dance and drill teams, and the area’s best middle school, high school, and college bands as they march along the streets of downtown Greensboro.

Winston-Salem Jaycees Downtown Holiday Parade & Tree Lighting Ceremony

Come to downtown Winston-Salem for the 29th Annual Winston-Salem Jaycees Holiday Parade. The parade features more than 90 entries with floats and marching bands among others.

The parade route starts on Fourth Street at Poplar Street, and then travels down Fourth Street to Liberty Street. The route turns right onto Liberty Street and continues to Corpening Plaza (Liberty and First Street).

The Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will follow the parade.
