Quarry at Grant Park Playground - Convenient to Vernon Farms
This playground is part of The Quarry at Grant Park – a newly opened park in Winston-Salem built around a former quarry that filled with water after operations ceased. The old quarry may no longer be in operation, but that doesn't mean that the digging has stopped. This playground has a gravel pit, complete with kid-sized digging machines. The quarry theme continues with a kid-sized "cliff," in-ground trampolines that look like the quarry-turned-lake, and a 42-foot tower for climbing and long expanses of playground bridges. In addition to the playground, kids (and adults) will also enjoy the views of the actual quarry as seen from the observation pier. And the whole park is intertwined with paved trails that connect to the area greenways.
