Say Yes Guilford

Triad New Home Guide - Fall 2016

Certification Opens for GCS Seniors

Say Yes Guilford has opened its online certification form that Guilford County Schools seniors must complete in order to qualify for “last-dollar” tuition-only scholarships. A link to the form is located online at sayyesguilford.org.

The certification form requires students to establish an account with Say Yes Guilford and include guardian, contact, and demographic information. The account will remain active until the students graduate from their postsecondary institution.

Students that graduated in 2016 and are currently in college do not need to submit a new form. However, current Say Yes college scholarship recipients are encouraged to keep their school choice and contact information updated in the Say Yes Portal.

In addition to completing the Say Yes Guilford certification form, Guilford County Schools seniors must also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), found online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Completing and submitting the FAFSA is the first step toward determining financial aid needs for college, a requirement for qualifying for a Say Yes scholarship.

Current Say Yes scholarship recipients in college are required to complete the FAFSA each year to remain eligible for Say Yes funding. Those students must also continue to register for a full-time course load and remain in good academic standing with their institution (generally a 2.0 GPA).
