Design Centers... Key to Successful Home Customization

Once a homebuyer has researched the marketplace and selected the perfect neighborhood, based on location, amenities, curb appeal, and their other criteria, it’s time to select the floorplan and interior design elements to make it their "perfect" home.

Royal Homes of North Carolina recently opened a new design center in High Point to help homebuyers on this design journey. Knowing the process can be a bit overwhelming, the Royal Homes Design Center staff is available to guide customers through the decision-making process. They give advice on color combinations and which materials will best suit a buyers lifestyle and needs.

Buyers have options to customize their home by choosing from trending paint colors, flooring materials like luxury vinyl planks (LVP), hard woods, ceramic, and carpets, as well as different tile backsplash patterns, and much more. Popular choices for homebuyers today are LVP flooring (for its durability and easy cleaning), white and grey toned cabinets, and granite or quartz countertops.

Once the buyers have selected a floorplan, the contract is written. At that point, the buyers, the sales agent, and the design center coordinator schedule a meeting at the design center. The design center coordinator provides valuable information regarding different products that are available, the time they can expect to spend in the design center, and communication expectations.

After design selections are made, the buyers will have a pre-construction meeting with the building superintendent and their sales agent to review the blueprints.

After the groundbreaking begins, the sales agent sends weekly reports to the buyers, along with pictures, so they can follow the construction process. This gives the buyers the opportunity to ask questions or express any concerns they may have.

Of course we all want plenty of options to choose from when customizing our home, but having guidance and reassurance throughout the process is key to feeling comfortable and being productive. Royal Homes of North Carolina is mastering the customization process by having the right balance between offering a multitude of options and providing help to make decisions.
