About the Area:

The small town of Gibsonville is almost evenly split between Alamance and Guilford counties; however, it is economically and geographically tied to the town of Elon in Alamance County. Gibsonville was named for Joseph Gibson, a prominent Guilford County planter of the ante-bellum period. Gibson's Federal-style house, which remains near Gibsonville, is recognized as a Guilford County landmark property.

Northeast Park, a 374-acre facility, is owned by Guilford County and operated by the Town of Gibsonville. Visitors to Northeast Park can choose from a wide variety of outdoor experiences, including a state-of-the-art aquatic center, miles and miles of hiking, biking and equestrian trails, athletic fields, picnic shelters, and playgrounds.

Gibsonville is part of the Piedmont Triad region, a six-county area whose central location puts it within 90 miles of the Blue Ridge Mountains to the west and within 200 miles of the Atlantic Ocean to the east.
